Newly Published Book Tells of the Struggle of the American Indians

Newly Published Book Tells of the Struggle of the American Indians

Shirley, NY (PRWEB) May 18, 2012

Author Barbara Nixon, along with her co-author Marlette ThunderHorse, tells the world of the plight of the Native Americans, particularly of those in Wounded Knee, South Dakota in Mi’taku’ ye-O’yasin (We Are All Related), her first book made available through Xlibris since April 2012.

This book contains true stories that are actual depictions of fact and known instances that are either documented history or of current events, many having made it to the news. This compilation of letters, historical facts, personal knowledge, and eyewitness accounts have been placed together to construct a full and extensive written and pictorial analysis of how the Native American Indians have been slated for extinction, cunningly by their own hand, “divide and conquer”…a strategy cleverly orchestrated by the United States federal government some 500 years ago.

Readers who wish to know the truth of the plight of the Native American Indians historically, to present day, will find Mi’taku’ ye-O’yasin an invaluable resource. Proponents of human rights, educators, as well as the general public and those with American Indian ancestry are strongly encouraged to partake of this knowledge as well.

This book will be featured at the 2012 Book Expo America in New York City on June 5-8, 2012.

For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.

About the Author

Barbara Nixon was born and raised in Long Island, N.Y. She lived in a culturally diverse community, which taught her to respect and embrace the differences between people. An only child at age 12, she lost her mother. During her father’s absences, working away from home for weeks at a time, Nixon discovered ‘many mothers’ that were willing to help raise her. Mothers of all ethnicities that would nurture her young and fragile spirit free from harm—good mothers of many different colors, races and creeds. In the years of her young adulthood, she had become a social activist for human and equal rights because of the way, and by whom she was raised, participating in many rallies, protests and 1960s gatherings such as Woodstock, the infamous four days of peace and love.

In an attempt to settle down, with much urging from her father, she got married in 1980 at age 29, a relationship that ended in abandonment 15 years later. She had two children, a daughter Kelly, and a son Matthew. Her deep involvement with Native America and the struggle for Indian people’s equality was ignited when she met Derek Whirlwind, a Native man of Mayan decent and a member of the American Indian Movement. Becoming a member of the movement in 1998, she traveled through ‘Indian Country’ with Whirlwind and eventually ended up in Wounded Knee South Dakota where she met her co-author Marlette ThunderHorse. The rest is history.

Ontario Summer Camp Near Aurora Ontario Teaches Camper to Make Bracelets and Community Benefits

Ontario Summer Camp Near Aurora Ontario Teaches Camper to Make Bracelets and Community Benefits

Camper From Kettleby Valley Camp near Aurora Ontario shows off her bracelet collection

(PRWEB) May 19, 2012

There are many opportunities that Ontario summer camps provide for children. Friends are made, a sense of independence is developed and new skills are learned. One exceptional camper contributed to her community by combining hard work and generosity with the skills she learning at camp.

Jessica Leonard learned how to make bracelets during her first camp experience at Kettleby Valley, a day camp and overnight camp near Toronto. “Last year, some of my counsellors made me bracelets that I absolutely loved!” she said “One of my counsellors was kind enough to give me one of her bracelets right off her wrist.”

Jessica and three of her classmates from school decided that they would make the friendship bracelets to sell and raise money for young patients at Southlake Regional Health Centre and Sick Kids Hospital.

On February 18, 2012 Jessica and her friends had a bracelet fundraiser in front of a local store in the midst of a blizzard. Undaunted by the weather, the girls managed to raise

$ 546.81 for charity. “Without going to camp, I wouldn’t have had the idea to make bracelets. Thank you to all of my camp counsellors.”

Jessica will return to Kettleby Valley Camp wearing the bracelets she collected and made over the past year. She plans to continue collecting, making, and hopefully trading bracelets with staff and campers this summer.

Kettleby Valley is an Ontario summer camp and outdoor education centre located north of Toronto. They provide both day camps and residential overnight camps to families all over York Region. Families from Aurora and Newmarket have made Kettleby Valley their choice for years. For more information, please contact the camp at 905-726-4275 or go to their website .

Originals By Weber Invention Is The New Weber Denture Liner. Use It And A Mirror To See How That Beautiful Smile Can Be Restored With Comfortable, Secure Dentures

Originals By Weber Invention Is The New Weber Denture Liner. Use It And A Mirror To See How That Beautiful Smile Can Be Restored With Comfortable, Secure Dentures

Toms River, NJ (PRWEB) May 01, 2012

Originals By Weber, Toms River, NJ 08753 announces their new Weber Denture Liner for all of those people who now have dentures. None of us likes to make regular – and expensive – visits to a dentist to have our teeth examined and cleaned, but then – it has always been that way. So, Weber urges all of his clients to face this fact of life and then make a high and holy resolve that they will – from now on – invest a major part of their money and time to keeping their natural teeth healthy so that every time they smile at their bathroom mirror they will be able to see what others see when giving them one of those big beautiful self-confident smiles.

People who wear dentures are usually very unhappy with them and they often have to suffer every day with dentures that are always loose and constantly uncomfortable to wear. In addition, when chewing food those loose dentures can move and cause friction against the wearer’s gums. The pain comes from sore spots that form on one or more places on the wearer’s gums while chewing food. But now, the easy to use solution to this problem is the new Weber Denture Liner. These always soft liners can make wearers feel good enough to once again want to show off their relaxed and very attractive smiles.

Since the beginning of time, there has been only one way to make sure a person has a beautiful smile to give to everyone they meet; and that is to take good care of our natural teeth. These days, the only way to do that is to face the fact that we have to “go to the dentist.” None of us likes to make regular – and expensive – visits to a dentist to have our teeth examined and cleaned, but then – it has always been that way. So, Weber urges all of his denture liner clients to face this fact of life and make a high and holy resolve that they will – from now on – invest a major part of their money and time to keeping their natural teeth healthy so that every time they smile at their bathroom mirror they will be able to see what others see when they give others one of their big beautiful self-confident smiles.

Terry Weber, inventor and owner of Originals By Weber of Toms River, NJ 08753 when asked to explain why he used his creative talents to invent this new Weber Denture Liner (Patent Pending) replied:

“After my two front teeth were broken off when I was about 9 or 10 years old, I stopped smiling because I was so embarrassed about the fact that my two front teeth were not there anymore. All that was left were those two empty holes where my teeth should have been. Later, after I got my first partial denture, I still had the feeling that every time I talked or smiled, everyone would see that I had two very obvious false teeth in my mouth. None of my classmates had false teeth and I thought they were all looking at and laughing at my funny looking teeth when I smiled. Of course, as I learned later, none of that was true. It was all in my head. No one really noticed or cared one way or the other about my teeth. In fact, one of the cutest girls in my class said to me one day: ‘Terry, why don’t you smile and laugh anymore? I used to love it when you teased me and smiled at me.’”

Then, Weber continued: “My point in all of this is to try to make everyone realize just how important it is to protect and really take care of their natural teeth so they will always have the most attractive smile possible.”

Weber suggests that people with new dentures should look at their reflection in their home mirror and smile at themselves and make a conscious effort to see their smile as others see it. All smiles need to be as attractive as they can be at all times. Think about how important teeth are in the overall presentation of every smile. When natural teeth have been removed, that is the time to rely on the new Weber Denture Liners to keep those new dentures firmly and securely in place so an attractive smile can again be displayed to everyone.

Of course a person’s “smiling” eyes and mouth are a big part of every smile but the teeth are really what contribute the most and make every person’s smile truly unique and memorable.

Since the beginning of time there is only one way to make sure an individual has a beautiful smile to give to everyone met and that is to take good care of those natural teeth.

These days the only way to do that is to face the fact that we all have to “go to the dentist.” None of us likes to make regular – and expensive – visits to a dentist to have our teeth examined and cleaned. But, it has been that way ever since Adam and Eve.

So, everyone is urged to face the facts and make a high and holy resolve that we will – from now on – invest a major part of our money and time in keeping our teeth healthy so that every time we stop and smile at a mirror we will always see what others see when we give them one of our big beautiful self-confident smiles.

When Weber was asked what kind of comments (feedback) he gets from his wearers of the Weber Denture Liner, he replied with these examples:

I was looking for something new to line my dentures with so I went online.

I ended up at Amazon.com where I saw your kit, so I bought it.

After receiving it I found I could just order new liners from you.

“They have worked very well for me.”

Record Breaking Year Anticipated for the 8th Annual New England Brewfest

Record Breaking Year Anticipated for the 8th Annual New England Brewfest

Lincoln, New Hampshire (PRWEB) May 15, 2012

With just under two months still to go before the 8th annual New England Brewfest on Saturday, June 30 in Lincoln, New Hampshire, event organizers are already preparing for a record breaking year.

“Ticket sales are up 165% over this same time last year” said Mark LaClair, Executive Director of the Lincoln Woodstock Chamber of Commerce who produces the event. “We’ve also added a VIP tasting session this year, with only 200 tickets available, and if we continue at the rate we’re going, those tickets will sell out long before we reach the cut off date of June 1st.”

The word is getting out to breweries as well that this brewfest is one they do not want to miss. “We had 20 breweries participate last year” explained LaClair, “and are quickly approaching our 30 space maximum”. Local favorites like the Woodstock Inn Brewery and Tuckerman’s Brewery will be back again this year, “but it’s always fun to see some newcomers” added LaClair. For the first time the festival will welcome Trinity Brewhouse from Rhode Island, the Olde Burnside Brewing Company from Connecticut, and even Wells & Young’s from across the pond in the UK.

Great music is also slated for this year’s festival. Permanent Vacation and the Jason Spooner Trio will be opening up for the headlining act The Brew, New England natives who are all excited to be part of this growing event.

Also back by popular demand is the 2nd annual New England Brewest Slider Competition. Last year’s champion, Chef Adam Parker of the Indian Head Resort, will be back competing against five other restaurants for the title of 2012 Slider Champion. Festival goers can use their beer sample tickets for a slider sample and help cast their vote for the winner, who along with bragging rights, will receive a feature in Northeast Flavor magazine.

The New England Brewfest is presented by Loon Mountain Resort and will be held on Saturday June 30 at the Lincoln Village Shops on Main Street in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Tickets are on sale now and lodging packages are available at NEBrewfest.com.

AirNet Cargo Charter Services Announces New Scheduled Small Package Delivery Service

AirNet Cargo Charter Services Announces New Scheduled Small Package Delivery Service

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) May 13, 2012

AirNet Cargo Charter Services, a leading small package express cargo airline, today announced that it has expanded its air cargo shipping solutions to include regional scheduled flying. The new scheduled service, branded as SPD (Scheduled Package Delivery), is a regional service designed for multiple customers that have regular small parcels in defined lane segments.

Key to the implementation of SPD is AirNet’s extensive fleet of Cessna 210 aircraft. Traveling at a speed of 175 mph, with a payload of 900 lbs. (105 cubic feet with the ability to carry 33 lbs / 15 kg of dry ice), the Cessna 210 is a fast, reliable, and economic option for flights ranging from 200 to 400 miles. It is ideal to service congested markets where lengthy traffic delays can exponentially increase drive times.

“Many of our customers are pleasantly surprised at how economical it can be to fly their packages instead of driving them at these distances,” commented Frank DiMaria, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AirNet. “Our SPD service helps our customers provide faster, more reliable service to their customers. Why drive five hours when you can fly in two hours for about the same price?”

“Although our SPD service is appealing and adds value to customers within many different industries, it has been of particular benefit to our medical and diagnostic laboratory customers,” Holly Stapleton, Marketing Manager at AirNet stated. “By flying specimens instead of driving them, our lab customers have been able to gain market share by expanding their geographic reach, providing quicker turnaround time, and increasing the productivity of their labs.”

New service to help oil companies respond more quickly in emergencies

New service to help oil companies respond more quickly in emergencies

(PRWEB) May 11, 2012

Jim Black, Managing Director of J J Black Consultancy Limited, explains: “As the service allows energy companies to see all assets in any geographical area – including those assets that they do not own or operate – it means that, in the event of an emergency, for example a vessel in distress, the oil company can identify the nearest asset, such as another vessel, crew boat, or even drilling rig, and then contact the local authorities, usually the coastguard, to request assistance. This can save a considerable amount of time, money and potential threat to life in the early stages of an emergency response.”

Jim adds: “One of the key benefits of this new service is that senior executives in head offices in London, Houston or elsewhere can respond to an emergency, at least initially, via remote access over the internet, without having to get on a plane and go to the location of the emergency. This will save oil and other energy companies significant sums in responding to a major emergency.”

He adds: “Outside any emergency, the Single Platform System also allows energy companies the facility to track the physical locations of their assets such as vessels, tugs, crew boats, containers, drilling rigs, cranes, and company vehicles. This means that assets can be deployed more efficiently which can save companies millions of pounds or dollars in their operations.”

A major international oil company with interests in Africa has already bought the new service, says Mr Black.

“The Single Platform System can even show the temperature of a vehicle’s engine or where people are located on a vessel – sometimes critical factors for an oil company in responding to an emergency.”

“Other features of the service include setting a ‘geo-fence’ to track the movement of vehicles, so if, for any reason, a vehicle deviates off a route an alert is triggered and the company can respond accordingly,” adds Mr Black.

“The Single Platform System is a merger of a comprehensive asset management system and an automatic identification system to allow companies to make the best use of their assets and minimise waste in allocating and deploying these assets and then make it easier and quicker to respond effectively and efficiently to any emergency,” Mr Black concludes.

The company also provides another service called ICAMS which is an asset tracking and management system for use in the aviation, maritime and ground transport sectors. ICAMS integrates with the Single Platform System.

For further information or a free demonstration about the Single Platform System, please contact J J Black Consultancy on 00 44 (0)161 850 5080.

Epic Pic Chutes and Ladders Takes the “Bored” Out of Board Games

Epic Pic Chutes and Ladders Takes the “Bored” Out of Board Games

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

LOUD BOOMING NARRATOR VOICE: “In a world where movie studios have mined summer blockbuster inspiration from 1980s TV cop dramas (21 Jump Street, Miami Vice), non-human action figures (Transformers), and theme park rides (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion) with no characters to build storylines around, the latest roll of the dice is on vintage games…” Universal Pictures is boasting, “The battle for earth begins at sea,” in its current TV campaign for Battleship, which opens May 18. However, the Rihanna vs. aliens adventure is not the first Hasbro game out of the gate.

The playground is the new battleground in Chutes and Ladders, a short film that brings a boatload of Michael Bay action clichés to a kiddie park near you. Chutes and Ladders opened Monday, May 7, on Sketchy, a weekly Yahoo! video showcase that features topical comedy shorts. The spot-on parody of an action movie trailer was written and directed by one-stop production company Kids at Play, a Los Angeles-based shop that creates content for television, motion pictures and digital media. Principato-Young Entertainment, Electus and Yahoo! Studios were Kids at Play’s production partners on the project.

“We called friends and family members with children between age 2 and 12, grabbed a Red Epic camera and hit the playground,” said Jason Berger, Kids at Play’s Founder and Executive Producer, who directed the short. “The kids got to be action stars and we pretended to be Michael Bay for a day—what more could you ask for?”

On Sketchy, Chutes and Ladders is the ultimate battle of good and evil with Timmy, Bobby, Samantha, Lil Jerome, Mercedes and Steve competing for turf dominance in a preview loaded with slo-mo camera work, corny catchphrases (“No child left behind!”), toy gun standoffs and ominous inserts (dark clouds: bad!). In Hasbro’s morality tale on a 10×10 game board, a player’s kind deeds are rewarded by access to “Ladders” that can be climbed to move closer to the winner’s circle. Conversely, bad deeds are punished by perilous slides down “Chutes” that make players repeat past efforts.

Hasbro inked a multi-movie deal for board games (Battleship, Ouija, Candyland, Risk, Clue, Monopoly) with Universal four years ago. However, subsequent titles have had trouble reaching the starting line and have since gone back to the drawing board or switched studios.

About Kids At Play:

Kids At Play is a one-stop production company that creates content for motion picture, television and digital mediums. Our team is young, eager, creative – and nimble, allowing for immediate starts on some of the most compelling projects in video. Our arsenal of producers, writers, directors and editors approach every project in a manner that is collaborative, relevant, engaging and unexpected, and our work is truly a team effort. Both literally and figuratively, we carry the bag and equipment.

GoGo Heel(TM) Launches Innovative Product for High Heel Shoes

GoGo Heel(TM) Launches Innovative Product for High Heel Shoes

Quick Tips pack

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

GoGo Heel, a new footwear company, has launched a new product for high heel shoes – Quick Tips™, the first quick fix for worn out heel tips. This first-of-its-kind shoe repair accessory doesn’t require any tools and can be applied in under a minute. Quick Tips delivers a long-needed, convenient solution that benefits businesswomen, business travelers, and those who regularly wear high heel shoes.

Nearly every woman has experienced the hassle and irritation of worn out heel tips. It clicks, it’s slippery, and it can ruin the most comfortable pair of heels if not repaired in time. Because heel tip repair is a time consuming errand, most women end up either wearing down their heel tips until they permanently damage their shoe heel, or they buy new shoes.

With Quick Tips, heel tip repair is fast, easy, and timesaving. In less than a minute, Quick Tips can extend the life of a high heel shoe.

Quick Tips consists of a protective cap that fits right over worn heel tips. The cap discreetly attaches to the heel with a no-residue, self-fusing band. No tools are required, making it the perfect “on-the-go” solution.

“What sets Quick Tips apart is that you don’t need to remove the old heel tip. This eliminates the need for tools and allows anyone to fix their own heel tips anytime, anyplace,” says Grace Hwang, Founder of GoGo Heel. “It’s a simple, yet versatile product. You can use it as a temporary solution until you find time to go to a shoe repair or wear it long term, like a new heel tip. Also, the caps are reusable, so you can swap them between your shoes”

Quick Tips is patent pending and made in the USA. Each pack retails for $ 14.99 and includes 4 reusable caps that fix 2 pairs of shoes.

For more information on Quick Tips™, visit their website at http://www.gogoheel.com.

About GoGo Heel, LLC
